Purpose
The Project Procurement/Purchasing Agent will manage procurement activities for capital and sustaining projects, ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and project objectives. This role requires strong knowledge of procurement best practices combined with technical expertise in Microsoft Project Professional, Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Project Costing, and Microsoft Power BI to align procurement with project schedules, budgets, and reporting systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and purchase orders in alignment with company procurement policies.
- Evaluate supplier bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with technical, financial, and legal requirements.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and cost compliance.
- Ensure procurement activities align with project budgets and cost forecasts using Dynamics 365 F&O Project Costing.
- Integrate procurement activities with Microsoft Project Professional schedules to maintain alignment with construction and engineering milestones.
- Develop procurement dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring real-time visibility of procurement progress and cost performance.
- Collaborate with project managers, cost controllers, and finance teams to ensure consistent project controls and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, procurement documentation, and compliance files.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and corrective action plans related to procurement.
Training and Education
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of procurement/purchasing experience within mining, industrial, or large construction projects.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Project Costing for procurement and cost integration.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project Professional for schedule-driven procurement alignment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for procurement dashboards, vendor performance tracking, and cost analysis.
- Solid understanding of contract law, procurement best practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
- SCMP designation, PMAC certification, or equivalent is considered an asset.
