Purpose

 To provide effective communication of the daily priorities and ensure these priorities are met by assisting the production supervisors in allocating resources as required.  To coordinate and ensure production targets are met as forecast, within budget and safety parameters.  To actively promote a healthy and safe work environment and ensure that the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Government Acts and Regulations and company policies and procedures are adhered to.  Liaise and collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance groups to achieve daily production targets. 
 
Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and ensure production targets are met as forecast, within budget and safety parameters 
  • Assist in forecasting the production and development targets for the workplace 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as required by the underground 
  • Ensure to correctly record all relevant information and data 
  • Participate in all pre shift daily meetings 
  • Fill out production templates and tracking sheets 
  • Utilize Newtrax, HMI, Centic, Optimine, PI and Microsoft Office Programs 
  • Coordinate blast gas clearing operations 


Training and Education

  • Minimum secondary school diploma, post secondary education in mining preferred, along with five (5) years’ of production mining experience. 
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations for Mines & Mining Plants, Underground mine rescue techniques, WHIMS and Loss Control Principles 
  • Professional Supervisor Certification 
  • Facilitator Training 
  • Proficient computer literacy 
  • Well-developed communication skills, (oral, written, presentation) 
  • Minimum five (8-10) years production experience in all aspects of underground operations 
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Familiarity with training programs, Internal Responsibility System, and Newmont’s Fatality Risk Management 
  • Proven track record in personal safety and housekeeping practices 
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in leadership roles 
  • Work well in a team atmosphere 
  • Computer skills to complete time entry, centric, work orders, materials management 
  • Demonstrate good problem solving skills 
  • Familiarity with the JH&SC and Safety and Loss Control
