Purpose
The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring baseline project schedules, tracking actual progress, and providing variance analysis and recovery recommendations. This role will ensure schedules are aligned with PMI standard protocols and support both capital and sustaining capital projects within a portfolio valued between $1B and $2B USD. The Scheduler will also play a key role in integrating schedule performance with project cost controls and reporting systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules for multiple concurrent projects using Microsoft Project Professional.
- Establish and monitor baseline schedules against actual progress to identify variances.
- Provide schedule analysis, forecasts, and recovery plans to support project delivery.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, cost controllers, and ERP specialists to ensure alignment between schedules and project financials.
- Integrate scheduling activities with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Project Costing for cost tracking alignment.
- Generate and publish performance dashboards and schedule analytics using Microsoft Power BI.
- Prepare schedule reports, dashboards, and progress updates for management and stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of project controls processes, including earned value management (EVM).
- Assist in risk and change management by evaluating schedule impacts of scope changes and risks.
Training and Education
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 7+ years of project scheduling experience in mining, industrial, or heavy construction projects.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project Professional for schedule development, monitoring, and reporting.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Project Costing for project financial integration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for data visualization, dashboard creation, and performance reporting.
- Strong understanding of PMI scheduling protocols, earned value management (EVM), and project controls best practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
