Discovery Kidd has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager.

The Position:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager is a senior member of the management team who is responsible for leading the repair, reliability, and servicing of mobile fleets, fixed machinery, and site infrastructure to maximize operational uptime while supporting all safety initiatives for the protection of our employees.
The position oversees maintenance execution, planning, asset reliability, budgeting and workforce development to ensure the maintenance department supports current production requirements and the long-term mine plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visible safety leadership and ensure maintenance activities comply with legislation, company standards and site procedures;
- Lead planned maintenance, breakdown response and field maintenance for underground mobile equipment, fixed plant, hoisting systems, ventilation, dewatering, electrical distribution and supporting infrastructure;
- Optimize equipment availability and reliability through effective preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, failure analysis and continuous improvement;
- Coordinate maintenance priorities, schedules and resources with Mine Operations to support production targets and minimize operational disruption;
- Ensure effective use of the maintenance-management system, including work orders, equipment records, maintenance history, backlog management and all reporting;
- Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets, forecasts, equipment rebuilds and replacement plans;
- Ensure critical parts, materials, tools, contractors and other resources are available to support maintenance requirements;
- Lead, coach and develop maintenance superintendents, supervisors, planners, tradespeople and support employees;
- Participate as a member of the mine leadership team and provide timely advice on maintenance risks, priorities and asset requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have:
- 7-10 years of industrial or underground/surface mining maintenance experience, including supervisory roles;
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in a relevant discipline, Certified Engineering Technologist designation, recognized Journeyperson certification in a mechanical or electrical trade, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Red Seal certification is considered an asset;
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams in a complex, safety-focused workplace;
- A strong business orientation and customer focus with an ability to communicate to all levels of the business;
- A strong leader, possessing superior analytical skills and the ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
