Purpose

To develop the technical skills, safety mindset, and collaborative work habits necessary to become a competent and responsible Millwright Technician, contributing to a safe and sustainable workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Will be trained in troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and performing predictive and preventive maintenance on underground and surface stationary equipment.
  • Responsible for compliance with OHSA, Corporate and PGM Environmental Regulations, Safety and Sustainability Standards.
  • Responsible to work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals both within the department and cross-department.
  • Must be highly motivated, organized and must be capable of decision-making.
  • Responsible for providing his/her own tools.
  • Assisting in other works areas may be required

  • Follow all Discovery Porcupine safety policies and procedures

Training and Education

  • Successful completion of the intermediate in school training sessions and required hours for their trade 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer and written skills
  • Must be able to organize work and self-motivate
  • Must be willing to work with others
  • Be technically competent
