Purpose

The Core Logging Geologist’s role is to generate accurate, consistent, and high‑quality geological data through detailed logging, sampling, and documentation of diamond drill core. This information is critical to advancing geological interpretation, supporting exploration targeting, and underpinning resource advancement on the Company properties. This role contributes directly to technical decision‑making by ensuring geological observations are captured to a high standard and effectively communicated to the broader team. 
Responsibilities

  • Core Logging and QA/QC Implementation: Conduct detailed geological logging of diamond drill core across multiple exploration sites. Responsible for the selection of core samples and the ongoing implementation and monitoring of QA/QC protocols to ensure data integrity. 
  • Sample Collection Oversight: Monitor all aspects of sample collection, storage, and shipment performed by field technicians, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and maintaining chain-of-custody documentation. 

  • Drilling Oversight and Safety Compliance: Monitor and track daily drilling progress on active programs. Track hole trajectory via downhole survey tests.  

  • Targeting and Drill Planning: Contribute to exploration target selection and drill program design. Prepare drill hole layouts and provide clear guidance to drill crews to ensure accurate collar positioning and orientation. 

Training and Education

  • Bachelor of Science (Geology) degree  

  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain Professional Geologist designation. 

  • >5 years of experience in gold exploration is required 

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.  Innovative and a proven ability to work with others. 

  • Working knowledge of the MS Office, and experience in industry-standard digital logging software is an asset. 

  • Experience with geological software an asset. 

  • Ability to communicate clearly & confidently, on a timely basis. 

  • Industry-standard training in First-Aid, WHIMIS is an asset. 


Compensation and Benefits
Competitive total compensation package including:

  • Company contributions and matching into a Defined Contribution Pension Plan; and
  • Annual total compensation of CAD$132,854 to CAD$164,114 (including annual bonus eligibility).
