Purpose

The Construction Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing on-site construction activities for large-scale mining and mineral processing infrastructure projects. This role ensures that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will manage contractors, enforce compliance with HSE requirements, and ensure integration of schedule, cost, and reporting systems through Microsoft Project Professional, Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Project Costing, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct construction activities across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to resolve technical and contractual issues.
  • Ensure construction is executed to design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor progress and performance using Microsoft Project Professional for schedule control.
  • Integrate construction progress with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Project Costing for cost tracking and forecasting.
  • Develop and manage construction performance dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and enforce corrective actions as required.
  • Report regularly to senior management on construction progress, cost performance, risks, and issues.
  • Support commissioning and turnover activities to operations upon project completion.

Training and Education
 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

Experience: Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in mining, industrial, or heavy construction projects.

Knowledge & Skills: -

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project Professional for construction planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Project Costing for cost integration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for data visualization, dashboards, and performance reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project controls, and contract administration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
